The Franklin County Training and Exercise Committee (FCTEC) is coordinated by FCEM&HS and is integrated with the Chemical Emergency Preparedness Advisory Committee (CEPAC) Planning, Exercise, and Training Committee (PETC) to assess current training and exercise needs for emergency partners in Franklin County. Comprising representatives from various response disciplines, the committee meets quarterly to review, coordinate, and schedule training opportunities. Annually, the combined committee hosts an Integrated Preparedness Plan Workshop (IPPW) to identify training needs, sustain or improve response capabilities, and integrate exercises for all-hazard preparedness.

The IPPW meeting establishes the strategy and structure for exercise programs and preparedness efforts. It provides a forum for community stakeholders to coordinate training and exercise activities, optimize resources, and avoid duplication. The resulting Integrated Preparedness Plan (IPP) outlines scheduled trainings, exercises, additional needs identified through the IPPW, training evaluations, improvement actions from past exercises, and provides information on Emergency Management Professional Development Guidance/Certificate Programs.
