Getting the right resources, to the right place, at the right time, is critical.

FCEM&HS is responsible for managing resources before, during, and after an incident. Through resource management planning efforts, FCEM&HS incorporates use of all available resources from all levels of government, nongovernmental organizations, and the private sector, where appropriate. FCEM&HS maintains a database of pre-identified resources for use during emergencies.

During an incident, resources are requested through FCEM&HS. FCEM&HS identifies resource requirements, orders, and acquires resources, mobilizes the requested resources to the affected jurisdiction and tracks the resources until demobilization. Resource accountability helps ensure responder safety and effective use of incident resources.

Resources can include but are not limited to:

  • Personnel
  • Equipment
  • Supplies
  • Facilities

Resource management supports operations and first responders with the capabilities they need, when they need them.
