The Franklin County Assessment Center/Multi-Agency Coordination Center assesses local, state, and national events including potential situations which may affect Franklin County while maintaining a county-wide Common Operating Picture (COP).

The Assessment Center/MACC is utilized as an initial response to an incident, large, multi-jurisdictional preplanned events, or jurisdictional requests for support. When an incident occurs, FCEM&HS staff assesses the situation through a variety of channels, including contact with those on-scene and the affected jurisdiction/s and analyzes all available information to make a determination as to the scope of the response.

If there is a significant widespread impact, FCEM&HS uses the information to prioritize response efforts and determine potential resources needed. The assessment results also indicate if the incident has overwhelmed a jurisdiction(s) and if a disaster declaration for state or federal resources are needed.
