COLUMBUS –  Franklin County Sheriff Dallas Baldwin and members of the Franklin County Winter Weather Planning Group will meet to discuss snow emergency procedures for the upcoming winter season. The coalition was formed last year to improve information sharing among key decision makers regarding snow and other weather emergencies in Franklin County.  The meeting will be held:

    WHEN:  Thursday, November 14, 2019 – 1:30 p.m.

WHERE: FCEM&HS, 5300 Strawberry Farms Blvd., Columbus.

According to the Ohio Attorney General, the Franklin County Sheriff has the authority to declare a Snow Emergency and temporarily close roads. There are three snow emergency levels, Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3.  Each level can have a tremendous impact on businesses, government and schools.  In order to create better situational awareness, representatives from these agencies will meet again this year to discuss possible concerns and better ways to collaborate and share information this winter season.

    Discussion will include:

    • Snow and Weather Emergency Declaration Impacts
    • Coordination and Agency Information Sharing
    • Public and Stakeholder Notification Procedures
