SIREN WATCH PROGRAM
The Franklin County Siren Watch Program supplements Franklin County Emergency Management and Homeland Security’s (FCEM&HS) efforts to ensure the outdoor warning sirens are working properly and is a key element to an effective warning system.
Each week citizen volunteers known as Siren Watchers serve as the eyes and ears on the ground through the Franklin County Siren Watch Program. Siren Watchers monitor and report on one assigned outdoor warning siren every Wednesday after the noon test (weather permitting). Reports are completed online through the Siren Watcher Mapping System or by phone. FCEM&HS staff monitors the reports and investigates any potential system errors.
Siren Watchers are a force multiplier and provide an invaluable service in keeping the Franklin County Warning Siren System operating at 100 percent.
