FCEM&HS continues to invest heavily in Information Technology development to provide near-live information throughout the emergency management process.With our dedication in embracing and preparing for digital changes, we are well versed in data collaboration, mobile-friendly capabilities, cloud computing, database system integration and geospatial information analysis.

The agency utilizes advanced technology in automating weather alert warnings, transforming digital communications and presenting geospatial information by maintaining database and programming applications with Geographic Information System (GIS). FCEM&HS employs GIS to maintain situational awareness and a common operational picture during a disaster or an emergency. The system is also used for new outdoor siren location, emergency planning, damage assessment and supports the Columbus Public Health and Franklin County Board of Health with The Cities Readiness Initiative, a federally funded program.
