FCEM&HS Executive Committee Elects 2017 Chairperson & Vice Chairperson

    COLUMBUS, OH – The Franklin County Emergency Management and Homeland Security (FCEM&HS) Executive Committee unanimously elected Grove City Deputy City Administrator/Safety Director William F. Vedra, Jr., Chairperson of the FCEM&HS Executive Committee and Westerville City Manager David A. Collinsworth Vice Chairperson during a regular meeting on January 18, 2017.  Vedra has served as Grove City Mayor Ike Stage’s representative for the Executive Committee since 2012. He was appointed Vice Chair in 2015 and was named Chair in April of 2016.  Collinsworth was appointed by the Franklin County Advisory Committee on March 10, 2016 and fulfilled the duties of Vice Chair.   

    Vedra has served as the Deputy City Administrator and Safety Director with Grove City since 2012. His career in public safety spans more than three decades and includes serving as the Executive Director of Ohio Homeland Security, Battalion Chief with the Columbus Division of Fire, Team Member of Ohio Task Force 1 and Chief with the State of Ohio Fire Marshal’s Office. In 2014, he received the Ohio Fire Chief’s Distinguished Service Award.

Vedra, Jr. “I’ve witnessed the team’s dedication and truly competent work to ensure the safety of our county’s citizens.”   

    Collinsworth has been the City Manager for the City of Westerville since December 2007.  He previously served as City Manager for Tipp City, Ohio for nearly 11 years. From 2012-2013 he was the President of the Ohio City/County Management Association (OCMA).  In 2012, he was honored by the Martin L. King Jr. Day Committee with the Miriam Alston award for his work promoting diversity within the City of Westerville organization and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Central Ohio Mayors & Managers Association.
