FCEM&HS Joint Emergency Operations Center (JEOC) Crisis Action System (CAS) Level 1
(Columbus, Ohio) FCEM&HS has increased posture from Crisis Action System (CAS) Level Normal to CAS Level 1 at 8:00 a.m. this morning in response to the Ebola incident.
CAS Level Normal is normal day to day operations. The Franklin County Assessment Room and JEOC are readily available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the event an incident within Franklin County requires support.
CAS Level 1 begins a formal assessment process that is structured to create situational awareness, stimulate communication among FCEM&HS staff, and facilitate ongoing information sharing and consultation by FCEM&HS with jurisdictions to assess and monitor an incident. The Franklin County Assessment Room is manned by key staff persons to monitor the situation.
FCEM&HS was tasked by Franklin County Public Health and Columbus Public Health to do long term planning and provide logistical support as needed. The JEOC will remain at CAS Level 1 until further notice.
Franklin County Emergency Management and Homeland Security, a local government agency, coordinates county-wide emergency/disaster planning, education, warning, response and recovery.
