FCEM&HS Director Michael R. Pannell Addresses Nationwide Children’s Hospital Emergency Preparedness Lunch and Learn Program

FCEM&HS Director Michael R. Pannell discussed Emergency Management and the roles and responsibilities of Franklin County Emergency Management and Homeland Security at Nationwide Children’s Hospital Emergency Preparedness Lunch and Learn Program on Friday, September 6, 2013. The program was attended by more than 100 employees and broadcast live to several Nationwide Children’s Hospital locations. FCEM&HS and Franklin County Community Emergency Response Team (FC CERT) offered emergency preparedness publications and FC CERT training course information. More than 75 Nationwide Children’s Hospital employees, citizens and volunteers attended a National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Spotter Training seminar hosted by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and supported by FCEM&HS and the Central Ohio Severe Weather Network (COSWIN) on Saturday, September 7th. The specialized training teaches citizens, public safety officers and emergency management personnel how to spot, report and prepare for tornadoes and other severe spring weather conditions in Franklin County.
