      FCEM&HS Executive Committee Elects 2014 Chairperson & Vice Chairperson The Franklin County Emergency Management and Homeland Security (FCEM&HS) Executive Committee unanimously elected Mr. Dana McDaniel Chairperson of the FCEM&HS Executive Committee and Mayor Becky Stinchcomb Vice Chairperson during a regular meeting on January 15th.

      FCEM&HS RECIEVES 2013 REGIONAL HOMELAND SECURITY FUNDING FCEM&HS was awarded nearly $350,000 in State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) funding. Executive Director Nancy Dragani of the Ohio Emergency Management Agency (OEMA) presented the check to FCEM&HS Director Michael R. Pannell.

      FIRST LEGO League team from Starling K-8 School Visits FCEM&HS Director Michael R. Pannell briefed the FIRST LEGO League team from Starling K-8 School on Franklin County’s Flood Risk and the Franklinton Floodwall. The team will compete in 2013 FFL Challenge – Nature’s Fury – Natural Disasters in December 2013 FFL Challenge will have over 200,000 children from over 70 countries learning about natural disasters and what can be done when intense natural events occur.

      Japanese Official Yoshiake Inoue Visits FCEM&HS FCEM&HS Director Mike Pannell explained the agency’s mission, authority, and operations, translated in Japanese to Mr. Yoshiake Inoue, a social worker from Japan with extensive experience in Disaster Management.

Pannell briefed FIRST LEGO League teams from Dublin and New Albany schools on the main risks for Franklin County. The teams will compete in 2013 FFL Challenge – Nature’s Fury – Natural Disasters in December 2013.
